Eyes #fmy52weeksofmemories

Both our girls have gorgeous grey coloured eyes.

A cross between my green eyes, and Brett's blue eyes.

I love that they change at different times of the day. The way the light catches them. They are beautiful and unique.

Summer and I have the flu in the last week. Brett has just gotten it over the weekend and there's been no sympathy from me. It's always turns to the man flu with him, he didn't even get out of his pyjamas yesterday! Some people have the life.

I am hoping Isabel is saved before she has to perform at the gymnastic championships on the weekend.

Friday night Isabel and I attended the opening of the Wattle Range photographic exhibition. I was so proud as she accepted her merit award in the youth section, for the photo of her Pop. It was a much needed boost to her confidence.

There were so many amazing photos. I was so happy with myself for being brave, in entering photos for the first time.

The exhibition is a fabulous community event. Photos from this exhibition are chosen to appear in the local council calendar. Hopefully we will see Isabel's photo of Dad there in next years calendar. That would be exciting.

We are in for a wet week here. Rain rain and more rain. By the end of this first week of holidays the kids are going to be climbing the walls to get out. God help me.

Mum #fmy52weeksofmemories

I went into Mother's Day this year not expecting to much. I was pleasantly surprised.

I was excited about receiving the gifts the girls made at school and kindy. They are the most precious.

Summer had a shoe box under her bed, secretly stashed away, with her offerings. It was all a bit too cute.

I loved the way Izzy woke up Summer in the morning saying it was Mother's Day and to get her presents. They were both so excited.

Keyring from the Mother's Day stall at school. A gorgeous card and candle from Kindy.
Isabel's handmade paper plant pot with a bulb in it. We've planted it in the garden, I think it's a Gladi bulb.

Breakfast in bed was nice, but seriously Brett needs to improve his porridge making, it wasn't very nice. I usually cook mine. I didn't say anything. I was still in bed! Who was I to complain. I appreciated the $100 hair voucher Brett bought. It shit all over the $20 Target voucher he bought last year. Still haven't made the appointment, probably next week.

We visited my Mum. I was there yesterday and it was lovely to see she was using her new 'Mum' mug, and insisted on me making her cuppa in it. I felt like I was seven again.

Izzys flowers from school.

Izzy and I watching experiencing Eurovision for the first time.

This is one I found on Izzys camera.

The video below too! The annoying, brain piercing singing kids instinctively know you want to hear, when you're at the end of your tether. It's funny now.

Egg #fmy52weeksofmemories

Easter Sunday morning. Crack of dawn. Isabel came into our bed. She laid there for ten minutes, then asked if she could wake her sister. I said as long as she did it gently. As soon as Isabel quietly mentioned the Easter Bunny to her, she was up!

There was lots of  "Oh my gods" about the foot prints and chocolate treats. Although it was early, it was exciting for me too. I didn't care that their breakfast consisted of Disney chocolate and Cadbury eggs.

Mum put on a pizza night for dinner and we left with our stomachs bursting. I am still getting over it.

The following photos were taken with my camera by Izzy. She likes to use my camera, I know I shouldn't let her play with it, but she loves taking photos and I don't want to discourage her. It could be her 'thing', and I quite like the images she produces from the angle of a six year old.

June #52weeksofmemories

School holidays have just started. Today will see me braving the supermarket with both of them. Send me good vibes.

We have guests staying in the holiday house this week, all the way from Healesville near Melbourne. They're leaving Saturday morning. I have plans if it is not rented again, to go down there by myself on Saturday night. I need some time out. I am guessing I will be bored shitless within the first hour.

Wednesday I am taking the girls to see Minions. I haven't taken them to the movies before, so it's going to be a treat for them. I am more excited than they are!

The weeks seem to be going by in a flash. I can hardly keep up. I'd totally forgotten to wrap up my June with photos from the prompts supplied by Toni at Finding Myself Young. It's a lame attempt, but here is a bit of our June.

22. Yum

Portuguese doughnuts with lemon curd. Yum!

23. In the car

I like being the passenger in the city. I leave the driving to Brett. I can appreciate all
the pretty sights.

24. Hands
These are from the playground on South Terrace in Adelaide.

Adelaide Aquatic Centre

25. Family
Brett and the girls after Disney on Ice. Waiting for a tram back into the city.

Brett and his brother playing silly buggers. Brett bought himself a mower for the holiday
house. Boys and their toys.

May #52weeksofmemories

17. Colour

An colourful, early mothers day present from school

Izzy painting her sisters face. She's supposed to be a tiger.

18. Water

Walking around Lake McIntyre for the school fun run.

The view of the lake from one of the bird watching huts. By the end of winter, all that green is under water.

19. With mum
Sneaking out to spend time with mum, when she's supposed to be in bed.

20. From the side

Siding at the old Tantanoola train station.

By the side of the road. Had to pull over so she could wee. It was a beautiful day.

21. Animal

Painted at playgroup today. This is our dog, Peppi. Complete with black spots.
It doesn't even matter that she gave him six legs.

April #52weeksofmemories

 13. Sharing
The start of April may have been shorty nightie weather, but now, at the end, it's definitely time to get the flannies out!

I froze some muntrie berries I collected last month. I love using them in Hot Cross Buns instead of sultanas.

14.Easter
Summer at the playground on Good Friday wearing a santa hat. Huh?
Easter Sunday evening, down the beach with family.

15. Reading
It is amazing how much Izzy has learned in the first term of school. We've been a bit slack with the reading in the holidays though.
