Winter soup inspiration

With winter due to make it's entrance at the end of the week, it's gets me thinking about soup. Gorgeous, warming, comforting hugs in a bowl.

Dunno about you, but it's starting to cool down a bit here, mainly in the nights and mornings. The winds are blowing through straight from the antarctic, with a numbing chill. The heating is on more often than not. Can I just crawl up in a ball and hide until spring?

Any day that has me reaching for a scarf or cardi (that's a cardigan, not a Kath and Kim chardonnay), makes me crave comfort food. I've posted a few soup recipes in my time here, so here's a recap for inspiration,  just incase you've been thinking about soup too.

Broccoli and stilton soup

Cauliflower soup

Thai chicken noodle soup

Leek, bacon and potato soup

Red lentil and sweet potato soup

Chickeny lentil soup

  1. I've had a terrible head cold and been living on Tom Yum - so good! Your Thai noodle soup looks like it might do the trick too!

    1. Hubby's had a cold too AND he's been eating Tom Yum as well! Love the Thai noodle soup, you can make small chicken meatballs with Thai flavours instead of chicken, which is good too.

  2. The Leek Potato and Bacon Soup looks amazing! Yum!

  3. I love soups on a cold day. The broccoli and stilton sounds amazing.

  4. Comforting us with food is the is the winter warmers you make. I "am" not a thick soup fan but since surgery last year, soup is one thing I can have. Mind you, the recent surgery meant that there be no 'bits' in the soup. So, I made the soup - thin stock - with lots of veggies, pulses and a ham hock, then took the solids out once done and blitzed them and re-added to stock. Great ideas here! You are a creative cook!! 5. I have never been a soup fan, but I am keen to try cauliflower cheese soup, just to see if it lives up to it's namesake ;)

  6. The Winter has well and truly set in here - it is freezing cold today and soup is the perfect food on a cold wet windy day. folowing you on instagram now.

  7. Alicia, I could seriously eat soup every day! Thanks for sharing so many fabulously delicious ideas!
