Digging for cockles on Geltwood beach, Canunda National Park













Doing the twist brings the cockles up to the surface :)

  7. When I read this on my phone this morning I thought it said digging for cookies at first I was like what the... We used to dig for pippies everytime we went to the beach with our Pa then we'd go to the calm beach and use them as bait to catch little brim.

    1. I did cook some up, I loved them! No one else really wanted any, as I guess they only saw them as bait!

  9. Beautiful pictures!! I love taking the kids hunting for cockles (cept, we call them pippies. Are they the same thing, or different?) Anyway, what I really want to know is, how did you eat them? Share the recipe!

    1. I think they are the same thing. Hubby wasn't really keen to eat them as he uses them for bait! I cooked them with an asian sauce. Will share the recipe when I make them again.
