We've been caravaning by the sea this long weekend. It's back home today, then Izzy starts her first full kindy year tomorrow!
On Sunday, I attended my first Australia Day breakfast ever, in Beachport. The breaky was delicious, it's a credit to the Beachport Lions Club and the perfect example that volunteers make the world go round.
Standing, singing and listening to the crowd sing the national anthem was awesome, followed by the presentation. I'll be sure not to miss another Australia Day breakfast if I can help it, just for the food alone!
How did you celebrate Australia Day?
Elaine Donaldson, receiving her Australia Day award. An impressive young lady, Rachel Smith, won the young Australian of the year award, and The Beachport Duck Race won the event of the year. |
Mmmm, bacon! |
Looks like a great day yesterday! We had a Kiwi barbecue with about 5 other Kiwi couples, we celebrated are great lives here in Australia, with out Australian-born children who actually have Kiwi passports! Off paddling boarding in an hour or so to work off all the lamb I ate! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day that looks like. Great pics. We had a lovely arvo with friends, bbq, wine and laughs. The best kind of day! Good luck izzy with school, have a fab time! I have a preschool starter and a big school starter this week!
ReplyDeleteYou will have a quiet household during the week day this year!
DeleteLooks like fun! I've never been to an Australia Day breakfast. We just had a quiet day at home.
ReplyDeleteIt was my first. I always thought I had to be up at the crack of dawn, but we moseyed on down there at about 8:30 and got a great breaky.
DeleteThat breakfast looks yummy. Kindy tomorrow wow how fast time goes.
ReplyDeleteI happened to drive into town and saw the huge crowd gathered in our parklands (which are picture perfect). I think its about 20 years since we last attended a breakfast there. Its a very social occasion!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to get down there next year :)
