In the picture

I have always been one for taking photos. Always the one with the chuck away camera, clicking away, and having to wait for them to be developed. The photo processing shop was one of my regular haunts.

I remember my sister commenting twenty five years ago, that I had way too many photos, especially of my new son. I should have realised back then that photography may have been the obvious path to take but there was some time in between then and now that I hardly took a photo.

I have realised that I don't get myself in the photos too much anymore, I am always the one behind the camera.

I do remember a horrid sod, who once bluntly told me I am not photogenic, and it was hard to capture a good photo of me. I let it get to me at the time, but now when I think back about it, I realise that he should have taken a long walk off a big cliff!

We are all, well most of us, gorgeous souls and worthy off being in the picture. There are many who will appreciate those pictures in years to come and look fondly back at the moments in time captured.

Here are some of the pics I managed to get my ugly mug into over the last few weeks, thanks to Brett who awesomely took the reigns of the camera, or his phone, to capture most of these.

My friend of over thirty years! We met in high school and got to hang out for a couple of days while in QLD. You can't see the bottle of vino in my hand :)

You should recognise this bird. We've been online friends for almost five years and I finally got to have a face to face chat with the lovely Emily from Have a laugh on me.

In line for the Batman ride at Movieworld. Bloody kids. She had a ball, and I am glad I did it with her.

The girls first plane ride. Adelaide to Coolangatta.

Along the Gallery Walk in Mount Tamborine Summer cracked up at this 'treeman', we stopped for a photo. Why not?!

Pick the tourists!

I am trying hard to crack a smile, not easy with a drying face mask on.

ICAD 2016 - Week 7

ICAD #43 mint
This is a hybrid Minties and Mentos card. A local servo was giving away free mentos with fuel purchases. I put the wrappers to good use. I also had no idea there was a choc mint flavour, they taste pretty good too. Minties always remind me of my grandad. Whenever he came over, us kids were so excited because his pockets would be full of Minties, just for us.

ICAD #44  Rainbow making machine
This is where rainbows come from. Right?

ICAD #45 Play on words
Pardon the pun

ICAD # 46 Lighthouse

ICAD #47 Monochromatic
Monochrome doesn't necessarily mean black and white. I was looking through and old magazine to cut from, and there seemed to be lots of green, so I went with it.

ICAD #48 Aurora borealis
A bit of an abstract one.

ICAD #49 superhero
It took me a lot of years, to realise my mum is a superhero.

Mum's big trombones - love #fmy52weeksofmemories

When I saw them I was astounded at the size of Mum's trombone squash she grew this year. She attributes her success to lots of animal manure and keeping the water up.

I knew I had to take a photo and share it with our local paper. Locals and their big veggies are a regular sight in it's pages.

The photos turned out great, and the photo with Mum and the girls was published in the South Eastern times yesterday.

In my own garden I've just pulled up my tomato plants. The green ones are ripening on the window sill.

Almost time to start buying them again at the supermarket. Not the same.

I have planted seeds of broad beans, snow peas and beetroot in the spaces left from the tomatoes.

Mum #fmy52weeksofmemories

I went into Mother's Day this year not expecting to much. I was pleasantly surprised.

I was excited about receiving the gifts the girls made at school and kindy. They are the most precious.

Summer had a shoe box under her bed, secretly stashed away, with her offerings. It was all a bit too cute.

I loved the way Izzy woke up Summer in the morning saying it was Mother's Day and to get her presents. They were both so excited.

Keyring from the Mother's Day stall at school. A gorgeous card and candle from Kindy.
Isabel's handmade paper plant pot with a bulb in it. We've planted it in the garden, I think it's a Gladi bulb.

Breakfast in bed was nice, but seriously Brett needs to improve his porridge making, it wasn't very nice. I usually cook mine. I didn't say anything. I was still in bed! Who was I to complain. I appreciated the $100 hair voucher Brett bought. It shit all over the $20 Target voucher he bought last year. Still haven't made the appointment, probably next week.

We visited my Mum. I was there yesterday and it was lovely to see she was using her new 'Mum' mug, and insisted on me making her cuppa in it. I felt like I was seven again.

Izzys flowers from school.

Izzy and I watching experiencing Eurovision for the first time.

This is one I found on Izzys camera.

The video below too! The annoying, brain piercing singing kids instinctively know you want to hear, when you're at the end of your tether. It's funny now.

May #52weeksofmemories

17. Colour

An colourful, early mothers day present from school

Izzy painting her sisters face. She's supposed to be a tiger.

18. Water

Walking around Lake McIntyre for the school fun run.

The view of the lake from one of the bird watching huts. By the end of winter, all that green is under water.

19. With mum
Sneaking out to spend time with mum, when she's supposed to be in bed.

20. From the side

Siding at the old Tantanoola train station.

By the side of the road. Had to pull over so she could wee. It was a beautiful day.

21. Animal

Painted at playgroup today. This is our dog, Peppi. Complete with black spots.
It doesn't even matter that she gave him six legs.

A garden weekend away

Mum, the girls and I, spent a blissful weekend away looking at open gardens around Strathalbyn, in the Adelaide hills. So much inspiration. I've been gardening for the last two days!

Can not wait to do it again.

These first four are of the Murray River at Tailem Bend. I took these in the morning.
These views were from our cabin, number six, at the Rivers Edge Caravan Park.
