The A-Z of me, right now.

This is doing the rounds on Fazebook, seeing no one has tagged me, I am tackling it here. Feel free to do the same :)

A- Age:  42

B- Biggest Fear: Losing a child

C- Current Time: 10:20, Tuesday night, 21 July

D- Drink you last had; cab sav

E- Easiest Person To Talk to: Mum and my friend Kat.

F- Favorite Song: Last song I got down with was Slim Shady on the way to Woolies on Monday. The kids were cracking up, informing it was a silly song, and obviously hilarious! I had it cranked. I like all music.

G- Grossest Memory: Blowing down a sprinkler hose and having a frog leg pop out. Gross.

H- Hometown: Kalangadoo SA

I- In love with: the few hours after the kids go to bed and the Bronnie Bishop memes going around at the moment.

J- Jealous Of: My SIL just spent a week in QLD, yeah her. Love you Cat.

K- Killed Someone? Um. No.

L- Longest Relationship: Husband.

M- Middle Name: Maria

N- Number of Siblings: four, two brothers (twins), two sisters. One of my brothers doesn't have kidneys, on dialysis, please tick your licence to be a donor and inform your family of your wishes.

O- One Wish: For my brother to receive a kidney. This always seems like a catch 22, because it means someone has to lose a loved one, for him to have a life.

P- Person who you last called: A lady at the Community learning Centre to inquire about getting something made for our community garden.

Q- Question you're always asked: Hi. How are you?  I mostly lie. Except for the past week, I've said I am ordinary. Goes over like a bucket of shit. No one cares anyway and it's not what they want to hear.

R- Reason to smile: Kids laughter and amusing shit.

S- Song last sang: Can I get a moment? - Jessica Mauboy. Today dancing around with Summer.

T- Time you woke up: 7:12 am

U- Underwear Color: White. The black ones are mostly reserved for that time of the month. Which it is not.

V- Vacation Destination: Sydney. It's been way too long since I was there.

W- Worst Habit: Chewing my nails.

X- Xrays you've had: Fractured wrist at primary school, darn monkey bars. I had a pinched nerve in my back when preggers with Izzy. I was in so much pain, the doctor thought I might have broken ribs. Was total confusion when I was wheeled into the hospital in a wheelchair. Not having a baby. Just done me back. Lets xray your ribs. Dumb doctors. Oh and I am sure I have had too many at the dentist.

Y- Your favorite food: Uh, der. All of it. This gut don't lie (all homage to Shakira)

Z- Zodiac Sign: I am a self destructing Virgo.

Ginger and Tonic, 4 girls sing acapella with a difference

Good one Dad, perfect toy...NOT! It mysteriously went missing when we got back to the caravan. Sssshh, it's still in the cupboard under the fridge.

No there's not dirt on your screen, just Izzys head.

We had a right royal crack up at Summer on this one. She's a little goer and loved every minute, even holding up the line on her way up.

Singing in the car, like a three year old

The last CD of music I burnt for the car was back in the end of December, just before the new year. It's an awesome time of year, there's always great new songs that become summer season anthems.

This Summer was the year when Izzy started to sing along to her favourite songs. She had found her singing voice, for more than nursery rhymes.

This Icona Pop ditty is the first song I noticed her singing along to in the car, in fact the first song ever(except a nursery rhyme) that she had sung the words to.

She often sung along to this next song and has declared her love for it many times.

This last song would have to be her absolute favourite. With it recently featuring in the Kmart ads, it has her singing "Bom, bom, bom!", out loud in the lounge room and me dancing, to an ad, like a teenager. It's my current ringtone too!

Just a few days ago I put a CD in the car with some new music. I am wondering what she will be singing along to next.

What have you been singing along to lately?

Who are you while belting out a tune in the car? A rock star? An idol, 'The Voice'? Would a Ricky Martin bobble head be great on the dashboard, that turned around when you started to sing!?

Happy driving :)

Broke 'n' back, a night out

My bestie Elle and I went out on the town last night. The band Broke 'n' Back played at the Community Club and it was just what I needed. It took me a while but I was out there on the dance floor dancing to some great music, and I loved it! My legs are sore this morning, surprisingly and thankfully my head isn't. They were awesome!! Here's just a snippet of the kind of music they played.

God save the Queen

If you didn't see my last post, my first Sunday Session, then you didn't see the awesome Freddie Mercury vid. It made me realise how great Queen were. If you haven't had Freddie Mercury aka Queen belting out your car stereo full blast and sang along in full gusto, then you haven't lived!! (Feel free to let yourself go and join in joyful chorus at any time) ;P

I have fond memories of my dad chiming in when the lotto ads played "I want to break free', with a joyful and happy "cross lotto!". I swear without my dads weekly punt he would be lost, his greatest joy is announcing a tiny cheque in the mail nowadays from SA Lotteries :) Love him to bits xx

Turn it up now!!

Friday inspired sesh

Friday night we sat down to watch some telly. Izzy was up but Summer was already asleep in her cot, she hadn't had a sleep all day, well, very, very briefly in the car on the way home from Izzys gym class.

We watched the end of a Scooby Doo movie, Izzy laughed at Scooby's childlike antics. Might be a movie I will have to get around to downloading in future.

Shrek Forever After came on after and we settled down to watch it. Izzy was excited, she loves Shrek, and we hadn't seen this one yet. I loved hearing this song. I recall hearing a lot of The Carpenters music when I was a kid.

I thought it was great when Puss in Boots sung this one. Go Antonio!!

Tiredness overtook Izzy not long into the movie and she fell asleep. She had a big morning with two, one hour gym lessons, broken up with morning tea in between. We were playing catch up after missing the Friday before when we left for a long weekend in Warrnambool.

Izzy has been walking up the walls (even the fridge) practicing her handstands. She was so proud to show her Dad when he got home from work.

Little old rough and tumble having a go too. Clown. She's a goer!

We watched highlights of last years Olympic gymnastics on YouTube when we ate lunch. When I think of songs from the Olympic Games, Amigos Para Siempre always comes to mind, sung by Sarah Brightman and Jose Carreras at the closing ceremony in Barcelona. The following song was played in the opening ceremony, unfortunately Freddie died the year before, in 1991 and wasn't there to perform it.

Brett and I really enjoyed watching Shrek. One of the rare times we sit down and watch anything together without the kids. I was a bit excited when Paul Blarts Mall Cop started after Shrek, but with a few wines, was ready for bed and couldn't stay awake to watch all of it. This was one the first songs in that movie.
