Egg #fmy52weeksofmemories

Easter Sunday morning. Crack of dawn. Isabel came into our bed. She laid there for ten minutes, then asked if she could wake her sister. I said as long as she did it gently. As soon as Isabel quietly mentioned the Easter Bunny to her, she was up!

There was lots of  "Oh my gods" about the foot prints and chocolate treats. Although it was early, it was exciting for me too. I didn't care that their breakfast consisted of Disney chocolate and Cadbury eggs.

Mum put on a pizza night for dinner and we left with our stomachs bursting. I am still getting over it.

The following photos were taken with my camera by Izzy. She likes to use my camera, I know I shouldn't let her play with it, but she loves taking photos and I don't want to discourage her. It could be her 'thing', and I quite like the images she produces from the angle of a six year old.

Listen #fmy52weeksofmemories

Last Tuesday night the girls laid out the picnic rugs in the driveway, and turned the car radio on loud. I sat on a chair and was ordered to watch the performance.

It was all a bit much to listen to with the dog yapping at all of us as well. In the end something had to give, and it was the radio. It was easier to shut up than the dog.

In my hand #fmy52weeksofmemories

In my hand this week was a colander. It lives on the retaining wall of my veggie patch.

I planted purple climbing beans next to the cubby house after the sweet peas had finished.

It's been such a long, hot season. I squeezed a crop of purple climbing beans right at the end.

I made a bean salad with what I picked. The weird thing is when they are cooked, the purple beans turn green.

A salad that is fondly remembered from my childhood. Mum said she got it from an Italian friend Alina. It involves garlic, vinegar and olive oil.

I am getting a few tomatoes here and there as well. The weather has finally turned in the last week. I think Autumn is working it's way in and those lovely warm days are starting to become less and less. I am sad, I hate the cold. My capsicums have just decided to spring into action too. I hope there is enough warmth to see them to maturity.

I do not care how much it rains, I do not like the coldness in the breeze of the last week. I do not like it at all!

Long weekending in Pelican Point

Friday saw me staying at the holiday house on my own. A night away. On. my. own.

I went for a walk after dinner, down to Bungalow Bay. I was hoping for a sunset, but it wasn't to be. It became overcast and the sea fog rolled in. Still a walk on the beach, is a walk on the beach.

Brett and the girls arrived on Saturday. In the late afternoon we tried some fishing at Red Rock Bay. No luck, maybe next time.

We had a really good long weekend. Brett and I did some improvements to the yard and I have the beginnings of a garden happening.

Me #fmy52weeksofmemories

For my 180th ever link up, I am fashionably late.

We decided to stay another day at the holiday house this long weekend. I had no computer, or reasonable internet so I am posting this after arriving home with a mountain of washing.

The first photo is last week. It has come to the stage, where I am fighting with Izzy for prime real estate in front of the full length mirror. She does her own hair every morning, such a prima donna.

These two are fresh off the SD card this morning on the way home from Pelican Point, lumps, bumbs and all.

I was alone and took these with the 10 second timer with the camera on the bonnet of the car! It was a mad dash to get in front of the camera before it went off. Such a dag.

An escape to Lake MacIntyre

When you're hubby goes out to get ONE thing from the shops and comes back an hour and a half later, you don't let it stew and fester. Sure you call him names under your breath and wonder why you never get to do the same. This is a common occurrence and happened on Sunday.

When he returned I put tea in the oven, grabbed my keys and camera and announced I'd be back in a while as I rushed out the door. I needed to get out of the house on my own. It was my turn.

I headed to Lake MacIntyre. Not the most exciting to escape to. Not as exciting as heading to a friends house for wine, or down the shops (to buy wine).

It was good though. Time to stop and notice stuff, be with my own thoughts. I had to remind myself to take my time and that I didn't need to rush. All was good and there is no guilt in spending time with me. For me. I don't demand it enough.
