An autumns' afternoon at Lake Mac

Saturday arvo I took myself off for a drive to Lake McIntyre. It's like five minutes down the road.

I ducked into Woolies on the way and grabbed a pizza and some garlic bread I could chuck in the oven when I got home for dinner. Easy peasy. Rolled into the adjoining BWS bottlo for a bourbon can for the five minute road trip. Bob's you're uncle.

I spent an easy hour walking around, taking my time and taking photos. I was lapped three times by an avid afternoon walker at one stage!

By the time I'd got home Brett had nipped down to Woolies and grabbed some pizza anyway, obviously filled in by Izzy, and had it in the oven. I added the garlic bread and we spent a Saturday night watching a movie with the kids. Awesome.

Brett nursed his knackerbags after his day surgery 'snip' on Friday. Funniest thing ever!
We are still finding things to laugh and joke about regarding that! Good on him though for taking one for the team. What a legend.

Joke's on me though, he's home off work for the next few days! Gawd sake!

An escape to Lake MacIntyre

When you're hubby goes out to get ONE thing from the shops and comes back an hour and a half later, you don't let it stew and fester. Sure you call him names under your breath and wonder why you never get to do the same. This is a common occurrence and happened on Sunday.

When he returned I put tea in the oven, grabbed my keys and camera and announced I'd be back in a while as I rushed out the door. I needed to get out of the house on my own. It was my turn.

I headed to Lake MacIntyre. Not the most exciting to escape to. Not as exciting as heading to a friends house for wine, or down the shops (to buy wine).

It was good though. Time to stop and notice stuff, be with my own thoughts. I had to remind myself to take my time and that I didn't need to rush. All was good and there is no guilt in spending time with me. For me. I don't demand it enough.

Lake McIntyre in August

I love walks around the lake. The girls like exploring too.

A couple of weeks ago, I got down there on my own and was shocked when I realised I had taken over 200 photos. It's no wonder the batteries went flat down the beach. Not hard to do with so much to look at and admire. Here's some that turned out ok. Well lots actually, sorry :)

This reminds me of soldiers all standing in a row

Easy to see why grevilleas are sometimes called spider flowers!
