The nation wide mummy crush, happening today

Something perfect is happening today, on ABC2.

ABC2 4kids is first choice programming on our TV, any time of day. It goes on when the kids are eating their breakfast of a morning, and at the end, the girls always watch Shaun the sheep with their dad.

Our telly has been on this channel, everyday for the last five years. I don't see anything wrong with that. In fact, I think the kids have learnt and benefitted from it, helping their speech and imagination.

They have always loved watching Play school, and I loved it too when I was a kid.  I can't remember a time when it wasn't on the telly.

I am not ashamed to say, I may have developed a crush on Alex Papps, and several other male hosts of playschool over the years. I remember, back in the day, he had a show with Andrew Daddo, called The Factory. I guess I never got over my teenage crush from back then.

The Factory filled the void after Countdown ceased. All I can remember from that show is that Andrew Daddo had two dogs called Fug and Benji, and that I was totes crushing on him and Alex.

Did you know Andrew Daddo went on to write children's books? A lot of children's books!

I digress....Back to playschool. Starting today, Eddie Perfect is joining the cast. I can see another mummy crush sweeping the screens tomorrow. I know I will be watching to see how he goes.

  1. LOL!
I have the hots for Matt from Playschool. He was on a few years back. (Light brown hair, killer smile and bod?) Anyway, we now own a few Playschool DVDs featuring my love, Matt! He still does it for me now! Thankfully Celeste thinks Playschool is the best thing on TV so we watch him over and over and over again!!

    1. Maybe that's why we just sit there and watch it, even though our kids aren't!

  2. I think watching play school and similar shows is fantastic for kids. I watched it. My kids watched it! I remember Alex Papps - but from a TV series that I can't remember the name of. I love Andrew Daddo. My kids had a lot of his kids books. Saw him recently on "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" - such a really nice guy! Have a fabulous week! :-)

    1. Oh I completely forgot he was on that. I didn't catch much of that show, so didn't see him on it. Dang, should have watched it. I wonder if any kids books will be inspired from I'm a celebrity?

  3. I watched playschool as a kid and then having a sibling who is 14yrs younger than me, I watched when not so much a kid. Have always loved it. Actually I wanted to be a playschool presenter but I have the issue of not being famous for something else first, argh.

  4. I saw there was a new guy starting - will the others still be around. Play school makes me feel like I'm a good parent for letting them watch TV - happy Monday lovely x

    1. Yeah I guess the others will still be making appearances.
He is doing a good job. I was watching him sing while folding the washing the other morning, and I was mesmerised!

  5. Any male Play school presenter that kept my kids entertained for a valuable half hour was worthy of a mummy crush from me!

  6. I watched a little bit of Eddie this morning on Play School. He's not crush material for me but I've got to say - he's very enthusiastic!

  8. He looks vaguely familiar. I don't actually watch TV and it was fairly limited when the girls were little. They did have a Jamie Oliver cooking chocolate DVD that would be selected week in week out for movie night over the array of kid's DVDs we had at the time.

  9. I loved Eddie in Offspring and I think I am going to have to record some episodes of the new ones with Eddie. Somehow we always seem to see it in the arvo when the old episodes are on but I can definitely make an extra effort for some Perfect!
