Muntrie berries(or munthari), are an Southern South Australian native berry. Lucky for us they grow in abundance not to far away. We drove down to Oil Rig Square, picked a container full and walked to look at the thundering sea. I love this place.
Glad I'm not the only one who has never seen muntrie berries before - altho in my defence, I've also never been to SA ;) The kids look like they had a great time!
I'm sooo fascinated by these berries. I think you posted a snapshot before on your instagram before. Really curious what they taste like. Can you cook with them too?
I have never heard of them Alicia! They obviously don't grow in the patch of SA I grew up in. What do they taste like?
ReplyDeleteA bit like a mildly spiced green apple. They only grow this time of year.
DeleteI wondered what these were when I saw your beautiful baked cheesecake, Alicia. I've never heard of them before.
ReplyDeleteThat shot of the snail is great! xx
Just beautiful images, I can't tell you how much I love the ocean on a grey day. I've never heard of these berries, but they look very nice!
