Colour in a winter garden

This crabapple may be confused....a blossom.
Below, the same tree, with some fruit and an autumn leaf hanging on for dear life.

  1. These are lovely. Im loving all our jonquils too out at the moment. Like your crabapple blossom, way to early, I have had 2 ranunculus blooms pop up out of the ground. They aren't due til October....Crazy weather we are having.

    1. Really odd weather, there are some trees about town getting their green leaves growing back already.

    1. The jonquils always flower earlier than any of the other bulbs here. The daffodils are just popping up out of the ground now.

    1. I have a chicken crossing one too, but the chooks are real! I don't let them out much because they eat head for the vegie patch and the dog is a ratbag where the chooks are concerned!

  12. Oh, snowdrops! They are the early sign of spring where I grew up. I'm not sure if it counts in Australia, but I like to think that we're done with winter.

    1. It's one of the things in the garden I look forward to in winter is the bulbs coming up and flowering. When the daffodils flower I will be definitely celebrating winter almost being done. Yay for longer sunny days!

  13. Your garden is blissful. I need a whole lot of ground cover for under the boys cubby house- any suggestions?

    1. You could try an African Daisy(arctotis or osteospermum), they come in all sorts of great colours and have a daisy like flower. My girls trudge all over mine every now and again and it seems to bounce back. Depends if you get a bit of sun under it or not.
